Sam is a native of Dunkirk and a 2002 graduate of Jay County High School. Sam
graduated from Ball State University in 2009 with a B.A. in Telecommunications with an emphasis on News.
While at Jay County High School, Sam participated with the Volleyball, Basketball, and
Softball teams as a player and manager. Sam was part of the Jay Today crew to broadcast Jay County Football,
and Girls and Boys Basketball for four years. Sam was the color commentator and photographer for the games
that aired on local access channel 12 in Jay County. Sam also participated her senior year in Jay Today Class
with a wide variety of experences both in front of and behind the camera. Sam was the 2002 winner of the
WPGW/Jay Today Scholarship.
At Ball State, Sam spent a year and a half with Hoosier Authority as a freelance
intern and reporter, covering high school athletics for schools in Jay, Delaware, Blackford, and Randolph
Counties.
Sam was also a reporter for the online multimedia publication Ball Bearings for a year and a
half. Sam also worked a year and a half for Newslink Indiana that aired on WIPB (PBS). She performed many
tasks such as reporter, photographer, producer, director, web content, news and weather anchor.
Sam has been with WPGW since March of 2002 as a board operator, web designer, sales
associate, photographer and reporter. You can hear Sam at night on the weekends as well as commericals aired
on WPGW.
Also Sam spends April-September working for the Single A professional baseball team the
Fort Wayne TinCaps. Since 2010, Sam has worked there as a photographer, producer, director, instant replay,
reporter, and audio engineer for the team's in-house and Comcast 82 programming.
